1 BESPOKE DESIGN SERVICE

Maggies World offers a Bespoke Design Service working on private and commercial personalised design and fine art commissions in a range of media and styles.

Portrait & Figurative commission work is usually based upon completion of the form below plus subsequent photographic support (see note 3 below). However if, at this stage, you would prefer to discuss your requirements more informally please contact Clare by telephone or email in the first instance.

After receipt of the form and photographs Clare will consider them as to their suitability and give you a guide price for the work plus mount and postage.

If you want to continue with the commission a telephone conversation with the client is necessary to fine tune requirements and ensure client outcome satisfaction.

Commissions are usually presented with a colour matched backing mount under a cellophane wrap.

It is sensible to give at least three months notice on commissions to allow time for discussion/painting/ mounting and the post, although enthusiastic late clients may be lucky diary permitting!

2 PAINT STYLE

Contour painting is controlled blocks of colour in watercolour/ acrylic/ or oils. Wet on dry is a controlled, more traditional watercolour, whilst wet on wet is loose and splashy and more contemporary.

3 PHOTOGRAPHS

Photograph's do not need to be of good quality - it is more important that they are a good representation of the individual. It is also useful to provide at least six to eight images for me to select from and/or use as a further guide for choice.

Bear in mind when making your selection that photographic studios produce very good images of people in posed situations, but a portrait is at its best, if it is produced from a more relaxed, less dressed up image and hence can capture a more real version of an individual.

In doing so a unique artwork can be produced which can be of value to the general art market as well as a family treasure.
